Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy has extremely amounts of baggage, an angry ex wife, and a daughter he never gets to see. Yeah, that seems about right. “Rapid Fall” by Adiana Ray is a love story that manages to skip past a lot of the tropes that annoy me with love stories. This is due part in the fact that it is only 96 pages long.Sonia is a workaholic. She used to be weaker, now, she doesn’t let anything get to her. She is going whitewater rafting with her company as a way to relax. JD is in the prime of his life. His company is doing well and he finally has time to slow down. however, his wife didn’t make it this far. She left him, and took their daughter. JD isn’t interested in relationships anymore, he just wants to have fun.
They both ended up at the same resort. They are both heading down paths that won’t end well for them. And to make matters worst, they fall for each other.
I wasn’t to familiar with the names and locations used in the novel but once I got used to the wording the story sailed by. It is a cute little tale of people with real issues. Nothing is over glamorized. Everything they say feels down to earth to me. Ray has a way with dialog.
Overall I liked this novel. It was short. Sweet. And kept the story at a nice pace. 5/5.

Sonia comes as a very strong character. Her life in Mumbai is very relatable for any Indian, working girl in Mumbai. I loved the way Adiana has touched small details like how Sonia thinks she has to reach home on time before the nightfall, without making her sound like a damsel in distress.
On the other hand, I could not understand, why Sonia was a weeping willow in front of JD. ( OMG, I am getting old and forgetting the turmoils of first love!) But then at Sonia's age, I did expect more maturity. Well, love sees no reason. But I do applaud her stand against JD's boorishness.
JD is one heck of a character. If I had to analyze JD's character he would come out more of a taker than a giver. So he falls a bit short in the level of my admiration in front Sonia. Women power and all, We women are sticking together. D
The passion between them is a burning livewire and executed very well. The language of the book and the editing is superb and a pleasure to read. Though the title 'Rapid Fall' suggests a more outdoor kind of name but keeping in mind that they met at the Rapids, the title is apt enough.
Any peeves? Hmmm. Maybe one.. the attraction that had flared between Sonia and JD was too sudden. His jealousy and her tears would have been more subtle has they occurred a bit later in their relationship. But in a novella, I suppose it can be overlooked. A damn good action packed read for any romance lover.

JD is recently divorced when Sonia walks into his life. Only problem is that JD only wants a physical relationship, but Sonia wont have that. She wants something more. Sonia and JD go on a company white water rafting trip together and their relationships blooms into something JD never thought he wanted anymore. With each of them wanting different things they must overcome this big hurdle in their relationship or they will not make it. Adiana Ray does a good job of making you relate to each of the characters that connects you to their personalities deeply. Good read, easy read, and recommend mostly for people who like chick-lit/romance.
Rapid Fall by Adiana Ray
In this book you will like the romance when Sonia and JD take an office trip together which is white water rafting. My sister has done this type of trip and the cover shows that rafting is the topic. The trip will reinvigorate anyone and if you are into rafting know that each location and adventure level is different so it will meet the needs of which you are comfortable taking. A guide will take you down the river whom has experience which relieves your worries if you are not experienced at rafting. This trip brings Sonia and JD together as they adventure to see nature, wilderness, test their strength, turn your stomach as a roller coaster ride would and help relationship bonds stand the test of adventure. It was not as adventurous as I’d like it to be but this was a fast read, easy to understand and follow. Sonia is an old fashioned believer in romance and JD has a divorce which creates static among them as a couple. In the end of the book you will be surprised as to how they handle working and romance. I enjoyed this four hour reading book and I know if you like romance and adventure rafting you will enjoy it also.
